Hayden has been asking to go to see the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial and and White House for a long time. Today was decided to take him to do it! I was so impressed by what he knew about DC. I guess Kindergarten taught him a lot!
As we walked up to the Washington Monument, Hayden said, "The flags are only half way up, who is it that died that was important". I was impressed that not only he knew it meant someone died, but also that it was someone important.
As we were driving around, we drove by the Lincoln Memorial first. Hayden looked out his window and said, "Look, it is Lincoln's White House" I knew he wanted to see Lincoln but I had no idea he could actually identify it! Impressed again!
We let Hayden pick on souvenir. He decided on some pennies. We realized a few minutes after, that we just spend $6 on 4 pennies from 2009. Ummm??
Hayden really wanted to see President Obama. We tried to tell him that he does not come outside. He said, "Maybe he will come outside to get the mail?" Love this guy!
We had such a fun day in DC with Hayden. He has already started his list of things he wants to see the next time we go!!
