Polar Express

Our annual trip to Elkins, West Virginia to take the Polar Express train to see Santa! But first, no road trip would be complete for daddy without a stop at Cracker Barrel.
Unfortunately this year there was pouring down rain while waiting for the Polar Express. This was a bummer because the kids love to run around and see the train and play in the field filled with light displays. It was even sad for mom because I was not able to make them pose for tons of pictures everywhere. Even though it was cold and wet, Abby was excited.

The last two years, the kids got to wear their jammies but last year Hayden asked us where our jammies were. So this year, I set out to find us all matching jammies! Even daddy was a willing participant. I had to convince him that he would not see anyone he would know. Except that of course I would take and post a picture for all to see!

Hayden enjoying his cookie that he dunked in his hot chocolate. Abby picking up every last sprinkle that fell on the table. She cannot let any kind of sugar go to waste.

Poor Kensley could no stay awake for Santa.

We see this cave on the side of the road each year just outside of Elkins. On our way home, this year we pulled over to take a better look. Thankfully there  is a fence and it is filled with water because Brendan was ready to take us all into it to explore. It is really cool to see, but I have no desire to go inside.
