Today was the Vienna Fishing Rodeo. This was a free event in town that we had to get tickets for a few weeks ago. They dumped a lot of rainbow trout into Wolftrap Stream and let us fish! Hayden was excited to help daddy get the fishing poles and gear ready!
We are off to find our perfect spot (okay, the spot they assigned us to)!
Who knew this existed so close to home!
Kensley even braved the rain and had fun. She was a perfect baby all snuggled up with mommy! Brendan is proud to say he was able to take his 2 month old baby trout fishing for the first time and she loved it, never complained once!
Abby was the first one to catch a fish!
Then it was Hayden's turn to catch another big one!
We learned that these rainbow trout liked to bit on the neon colored mini marshmallows the best!
Fishing is hard work!
We had so much fun! Daddy was so excited to know that there was fishing just a mile from our house! There is not usually trout, but it will be fun to have a close place to get the kids excited about being fisher people! We are allowed 6 tickets per household, so if any of the grandpas are interested in joining the fun next year, just let us know! We were assigned an hour time slot when we got our tickets and the kids did great. They made it 45 minutes. The rain was light, but I think it actually kept all the crowds away! They even had a nice man on site who cleaned the fish for us! Can't wait for dinner tonight!
