4th Of July

Sorry for the lack of pictures on the 4th. But here is what we did. We started the day at the Fairfax parade. We then spent time with family and the Vienna Festival. We kept the kids up late because they were so excited to see the fireworks. We got to the park and anxiously waited. As soon as they started, they were really, really loud. The kids started crying and we packed up our stuff and ran out of there. Poor kids, they did not like them at all. (I believe they were much louder this year than in the past and the rest of the family with us agreed. A few years ago, we sat in the same spot with Hayden who was a baby. He watched them at the beginning without crying or getting scared and fell asleep in my lap while they were going on.)

We decided to do sparklers in the backyard the next day to show the kids that some fireworks can be fun and quiet. They loved it!
